The brooders are an exclusive part of Windstreek. Under this mother bell the young broilers find shelter in the first weeks. The shape ensures that the chicks stay on temperature by their own heat and still get enough fresh air. Only limited preheating is required in the initial phase with infrared heating. This provides an enormous reduction in energy consumption.

In the free-range area under the perches , enrichment material can be applied such as straw bales. This means that there is really something to explore for the chickens.
